Lunch with a hybrid organ!
(but not a hybrid organist!!)

Don't miss this concert! Tomorrow,Wednesday May 7th,  Martin Setchell puts another fine Rodgers organ through its paces - but this is one with a difference: it's a hybrid organ, with the digital versatility of the Rodgers combined with the original pipes from the pipe organ. And a programme that will have something for everyone:
  • Prelude to the Te Deum ~ Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1643-1704)
  • Prelude and Fugue in Eb Op 99 No 3 ~ Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921)
Bach transcriptions for organ by Martin Setchell:
  • Siciliano from Sonata No 2 for flute and continuo BWV 1031
  • Largo from Concerto No.5 BVW 1056
  • Now thank we all our God BWV 79
  • Toccata in D ~ Marcel Lanquetit (1894-1985)
In lighter mood:
  • Caribbean dance ~ Madeleine Dring (1923-1977) arr. Setchell
  • Wedding March Extraordinaire ~ Martin Setchell
Martin's latest CD, "Cardboard Cathedral Organ Capers", as well as some of his earlier CDs and my book "Organ-isms: Anecdotes from the World of the King of Instruments" will be on sale at discount concert prices.

Don't forget: Wednesday, May 7th, 1pm, Lunch with a hybrid organ: Martin plays the new Rodgers 599 hybrid organ at St Mary's Manchester Street, Christchurch
